The SWAAT corrosion test (Sea Water Acidified Test) is particularly suited to testing the resistance to corrosion of aluminium components. One particularly useful application is in determining the time to perforation of the aluminium alloys used in heat exchangers.
Although there are a number of different test methods specified by the manufacturers, they are all based on ASTM G85.
