The brightness of a paint finish, plastic material or any other surface is a key component in the user's perception.
It is measured using a brightness meter (or reflectometer), which projects a beam of light onto the surface and measures its loss of intensity after reflection.
The results are expressed in Units of Brightness (UB), and the delta B equates to the loss of brightness after the test.
