<font color="#3B3B3C"> Appearance tests<br>25/04/2007 <br> Martindale abrasion<br> Circular test samples are rubbed using a standard abrasive material with a specified pressure applied. The motion of the rubber follows a cyclical planar pattern called a Lissajous figure (the resultant of two simple harmonic movements, perpendicular to each other). The resistance to abrasion is estimated based on the number of cycles to failure, on the loss of mass of the test samples, or, for a fabric, on the piling tendency. SERCOVAM has two of these instruments, which ensure compliance with the international standards (EN ISO 12947, EN ISO 12945) and with the specific test methods developed by car manufactuers (RENAULT, PSA, VOLVO, etc.).</font>
